What is an invitation?
It's a request for someone's presence, a person's participation in an event, it's something. It can also be a summons. How can this invitation be made? By letter, card. Understand one thing, no one accepts any invitation from anyone, right? Today there is a very special invitation for you. My sister, is this an invitation to achieve happiness in this world? With this invitation, it is clear that in this world you will also have happiness. But it is an invitation that is not mine, I am just a spokesperson for it. The invitation is from the LORD JESUS, HE says to you now: “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
If you say: this invitation arrived at an important moment in my life, I'm happy about it, but I already knew, because JESUS never makes the wrong address. Let's see some important points of this invitation.
1st point. Because it is made by Someone most important in the entire universe, in fact, HE created the universe and all things. HE created the first, second and third heavens. In the first heaven are the birds, in the second heaven we find the cosmos, outer space and in the third heaven, ah! In the third heaven, HE lives!
2nd point: This invitation is for everyone
3rd point. This invitation has a wonderful purpose, a great promise. Repeating verse 28 of Matthew 11 which says: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
On the path of existence, of life, there are many difficulties and afflictions. Look believer, you are also not exempt from struggles, problems, losses, illnesses, annoyances. Who knows if I'm talking to you now who is facing a difficult situation? Take advantage and leave your request here and my team and I will be interceding for you. Many questions are asked, millions of them. Why does it happen? How can we overcome, how can we avoid difficult situations? There is certainly an answer to each of these questions and it is included in the invitation made by JESUS, our LORD and Savior. HE continues to say, “Come to Me.” It is not simply an invitation to go to a place, an event, but to a Person. It is important to emphasize here: it is not just anyone. It's someone who knows your problem in depth. It’s not a “friend” asking you to smoke a joint, drink, etc. JESUS is Someone who knows your problem in depth. HE went through difficult situations when he was here on this earth to die for us, in our place, to forgive our sins and give us salvation. HE was tempted and suffered afflictions like you and me. In the Bible we find the following: “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses; but one who has been tempted in every way like us, yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15) Do you now understand why JESUS can feel your pain, become sensitive to your suffering? You don't is alone. This invitation is for everyone. This invitation implies everyone’s suffering. Everyone who is under the guilt of sin, for we are all sinners. In 1 John 1:8-10 it says:
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, HE is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not committed sin, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.
JESUS now calls you to receive forgiveness for all your sins through His blood that was shed on the cross. A pure, sinless blood. HE became sin for us. He felt the desire for sin in His body, but he resisted and today he can be here offering you this opportunity for eternal happiness. Even you, who have already been forgiven, washed by His Blood, have in HIM the opportunity to see This Wonderful GOD act in your life, freeing you from this difficult problem. HE also says to you: “Come to Me.” HE will give you victory! In Romans 8:37 it says: “37 But in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” As I said before, this invitation has a purpose. A great promise. What is this promise? I will give you relief, hallelujah! Isn't it wonderful to be able to rest? This is exactly JESUS' promise to all who are tired of suffering, tired of sinning.
In the storms of life you will find rest in HIS arms, while you wait for HIM to give one, that's enough in this situation. Until victory arrives, which will soon arrive, JESUS makes your yoke easy and your burden light. Matthew 11:30 says, “For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Conclusion: If you have not yet repented of your sins, have not yet believed in the SON of GOD, JESUS CHRIST and have not received Him as Your LORD and Savior, do so now. The Word of GOD in John 3:16-21 says:
16 For GOD so loved the world that he gave his only begotten SON, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
17 For GOD sent his SON into the world, not that he should judge the world, but that the world might be saved through HIM.
18 Whoever believes in HIM is not judged; but whoever does not believe is already judged; because he does not believe in the name of the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON of GOD.
19 And this is the judgment: The light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, because their works were evil.
20 For everyone who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds be reproached.
21 But he who practices the truth comes to the light, so that it may be evident that his works are done in GOD.
Prayer: My GOD, I ask You at this moment, to change the story of this life that prays with me now. Show Your power. Power to forgive your sins and change this difficult situation you are going through. Surrender yourself to JESUS now. Tell HIM that you recognize Him as Savior. Ask forgiveness for your sins. HE is listening to your voice, or just your heart. Ask for HIS help in this situation. Tell your needs. HE knows all things, but it is very good for you to talk to His LORD. Wait for the answer, the promise will happen. JESUS gives you victory now. Our prayer is made in Your name JESUS, amen.
