Consolation: Action of consoling, tempting, alleviating the suffering, pain or sorrows of someone, or oneself, comfort.
Psalm 119:28 says, “My soul is consumed with sorrow; strengthen me according to Your Word.”
Kings 19: 1-18 (read the text for greater understanding). The prophet Elijah is tired and feels defeated. He feels alone, but GOD is with him. GOD will give him food, will speak to him in a gentle whisper. Elijah asked for his own death. GOD gives you food. An angel feeds him. There is strength in this food from heaven. Elijah goes to Mount Horeb and in a cave he will hear the soft voice of his FATHER giving him instructions.
1st GOD through the HOLY SPIRIT comforts us. We all feel afraid at some point, it's like we're in a cage. We need to fight.
2 Corinthians 1:3 “Blessed be the GOD and FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, the FATHER of mercies and GOD of all comfort.”
2nd Prayer to GOD brings us comfort. This prayer that you say or receive at a time like this will help with life's challenges. JESUS admonishes us to pray several times. JESUS knew that we would face several difficulties. Life is not easy at all! JESUS, knowing this, left us a powerful weapon, a wonderful tool, prayer.
Philippians 4:6-7 says:
“6 Do not be anxious about anything; rather in everything let your requests be made known before GOD by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving;
7 and the peace of GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in CHRIST JESUS.”
3rd Let GOD rescue you. Isaiah 40:1-66:24, the prophet will bring comfort to the people of GOD. The LORD will rescue his people from Babylon; there will be an eternal glory of Zion.
GOD promises us that he will transform our sadness into joy and give us double honor in the place of dishonor and shame. You believe in it, so trust it and it will happen in your life.
