The dictionary says:
— Revelation is the name given to the act of unveiling, of making something clear and understandable, through communication.
— Revelatio: Latin term and means removing the veil. At this moment we will remove the veil in the light of the Scriptures to understand five revelations of the Word of GOD itself.
The Word shines like a light on the dark path of this world. Are there just five revelations? Of course! But, today we will talk about five of these revelations. They are revelations in the form of simple information, as well as transformation for our lives, leading us to a great truth and also a great hope that we only find in GOD.
1st revelation: the Scriptures reveal our condition before the Creator (Romans 3:10-23), read this text now.
In the verse of Romans 3:10, we find the Word saying: “As it is written, There is none righteous, not even one.” In verse 23 it says: “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of GOD.” What a great revelation! And many do not understand this tremendous revelation. Everyone has sinned and needs the glory of GOD in their lives. Not only external sins, but also internal ones.
These sins that dwell in our hearts, which no one sees, but HE, our GOD sees. HE, through the Bible, tells us this now. The Word confronts us with our reality, in a way that leads us to understand our miserable situation, leading us to seek salvation, making it very clear that on our own we are completely incapable of reconciling with this pure GOD.
2nd revelation: The Bible will also reveal the solution to this. What solution? JESUS CHRIST! In the Gospel of John 3:16 it says: “For GOD so loved the world that He gave His only begotten SON, that whoever believes in Him may have eternal life.” We can see another revelation from the Bible, the answer to the problem of sin, JESUS CHRIST, the SON of GOD. In this verse we can see highlighted the magnitude of the love of GOD who sent us His SON to give us salvation. Here we see another revelation that HE offered us the solution through JESUS, where you find this solution in the revelation of the Scriptures. This is the second revelation. There are still three more to go. Let's go!
3rd revelation: The Bible also reveals to us this Path to salvation. You can say: my sister is not JESUS This Way? Yes, I have already said that the Word wants to continue revealing it to us, and that understanding is very important. Look at what the Bible says in Acts 16:31 “Believe in the LORD JESUS and you and your household will be saved.” Revelation here is the way to go, it is to believe in JESUS and not just have knowledge. Knowing that GOD presented us with HIM, but we need to receive, believe, this is the revelation now here to be understood. The Word says in Ephesians 2:8-9 emphasizing that the Salvation is a gift from GOD, it is not the result of our own works. Let's go to the text that says: “8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this does not come from you, it is a gift from GOD.
9 It does not come from works, so that no one can boast.” No one can receive salvation by any merit, but only by the grace of GOD.
4th revelation: The Bible reveals to us that there is a destiny for the saints. Who are the saints? They are those being separated from this world of horror of sin to live and do the will of the FATHER, the will of GOD. How wonderful, hallelujah! The Word will still say in John 14:1-3:
“1 Let not your heart be troubled; If you believe in God, believe in me too.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions; if it weren't so, I would have told you; I will prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, so that where I am you may be also.” What a glorious revelation contained in the Bible! There is a final destination for us. We will forever be in the presence of the Eternal FATHER. JESUS went to prepare these homes, our homes, glory to GOD! Faced with the uncertainties of this life, how this revelation brings us peace, comfort and hope.
5th and final revelation: The Bible reveals the destiny of the lost, Psalms 9:17 “17 The wicked will go to Sheol, even all the nations that forget GOD.”
Sheol: eternal grave/hell. Those who do not receive salvation will face divine judgment, eternal judgment. This last revelation shows us the consequences of rejecting the present, GOD's offer for eternal salvation. We can see that the Bible is not simply a book. Do you know what a map is for? The Bible is a map that guides us through life. The revelations found here lead us to the truth, grace and hope of GOD. Are we going to promise something to GOD right now? Let us promise that we will value these revelations and allow them to transform our lives. Let's surrender to the Word of GOD and thus have a transformative relationship with our Savior JESUS CHRIST. May the Scriptures continue to be a source of light and guidance for us, the True Compass, while we are walking this Path of faith in this dark world. In Amos 3:3, the Holy Word says: “Can two walk together if they do not agree?” Let us walk together with GOD!
