Romans 3:24-26
24
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in CHRIST JESUS,
25 whom GOD proposed as a propitiation, through faith, in his blood, to demonstrate his righteousness in that HE had in his patience, leaving aside the crimes previously committed;
26 to demonstrate His righteousness in this present time, so that HE may be just and also the justifier of those who have faith in JESUS.
Grace means the undeserved favor that the FATHER granted us through the death of CHRIST JESUS on Calvary.
GOD poured out His love on us and also His mercy for us, this is grace.
What does the word undeserved mean? Unworthy of, there is no merit in us to have received or to receive this grace if you decide today on the side of CHRIST.
What is a favor? Something you receive as a gift, help, consideration, assistance.
And why from GOD? Because its origin came from GOD and not from man.
Grace has a firm foundation
We cannot earn grace through our own sacrifices. There is no merit in us powerful enough to earn this grace.
Grace is based solely on the sacrifice of JESUS on the cross. Through the blood of JESUS shed on the cross we are justified. JESUS became incarnate for the purpose of saving the sinner. Save me and you.
The importance of Grace
Look what Romans 3:23 says
Because all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of GOD.
The sin committed due to the sacrifice of CHRIST was forgotten for those who receive the free gift through faith.
If you do not understand sin as a terrible problem you will certainly never understand Grace. The Apostle Paul will say in 1 Corinthians 15: 9,10, the following:
9 For I am the least of the apostles, not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of GOD.
10 But by the Grace of GOD I am what I am; and his Grace towards me was not in vain, but I worked much more than all of them; however, not I, but the Grace of GOD that is with me.
In ourselves there is no way to save ourselves, because our works and efforts do not reach the power of JESUS's sacrifice on the cross.
There is a power in Grace that transforms the sinner
It is Grace that frees us from the eternal condemnation that we are subject to due to sin.
Grace leads us to live a free life. There is freedom in Grace. There is transforming power. Even in a moment of weakness, it strengthens us and so we can overcome sin and live according to GOD's will.
This wonderful Grace leads us to have immense gratitude and service before GOD. There is a great desire to serve this GOD who freed us from darkness into His wonderful Light.
So dear brother and dear sister, Grace is a great gift from GOD to us. Grace saves us, frees us, gives us the opportunity to obtain eternal life in CHRIST.
