Practice a powerful prayer
How you can make your prayer more meaningful. Know that the first thing of all is to deeply desire to have this prayer. Introduction Our prayer life is very important as the life of obedience to the LORD’s service. We must have our concentration focused on the use of prayer and this way we will understand whether or not we need to improve it. Oh! If we improve our prayer life, our entire life will certainly be more meaningful. So let's see what we need to do for this? 1st Point: There must be dedication to obtain a powerful prayer. Are you an average Christian? You certainly spend a very limited amount of time in prayer. Only using prayer for emergency moments. How much time did you spend in prayer yesterday? Daniel 6:10 says: “When Daniel heard that the edict was signed, he entered his house, into his room above, where the windows facing Jerusalem were open; and three times a day he knelt down and prayed, and gave thanks before his GOD, as he used to do before.” Our LORD JESUS taught His disciples the value of persistent prayer in two parables in Luke 11 and 18. In chapter 11 JESUS will speak about the parable of the annoying friend, who, due to his insistence at midnight, asked for three loaves of bread for someone who arrived suddenly at his house and he will get what he wanted by insistence. In chapter 18 JESUS will tell the parable of the wicked judge who, at the insistence of a widowed woman, will judge in favor of her cause. What is the essential ingredient in these two parables? Definitely persistence, perseverance. Perfect combination: action + prayer. Pray a lot, believing that everything depends on GOD. 2nd Point: Have a specific prayer and you will have a powerful prayer. If you are going to say a collective prayer, there is no problem with the prayer being generic. But prayers must be said specifically and of course, for specific people, specific needs. Even when we pray in a congregation, this prayer must be for a certain need, therefore, specific. Even when we pray for different people, we can still pray specifically for them such as health, finances, family, etc. 3rd Point: A powerful prayer must be the fruit of faith James will show the relationship between weak faith and futile prayer. James 1:6 “But ask in faith, not doubting; for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, which is tossed and tossed by the wind.” Doubts and uncertainties get in the way of prayers. Your source of faith is the Word of GOD, Romans 10:17 “Therefore faith comes from hearing, and hearing from the Word of CHRIST.” Have zeal and enthusiasm when you pray. Let us not resemble the Pharisees in the time of JESUS who prayed hollow and empty prayers. 4th Point: To have a powerful prayer, it must not be selfish. GOD's ears are not touched by selfish prayers. Our GOD wants to bless generous hearts. Never forget that prayer must always be in accordance with GOD's will, not with our will alone. 5th Point: having a powerful prayer is certainly the fruit of a sanctified life. Let's become more righteous and our prayers will certainly be heard and answered. ! Peter 3:12 says, “For the eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their supplication; but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil.” The prophet Elijah was successful in his prayers because of his righteous life. Proverbs 1:28 says, “Then they will cry to Me, but I will not answer; They will diligently seek me, but they will not find me.” Isaiah 59:2 says, “But your iniquities have separated between you and your GOD; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear you.” These words are being spoken here to GOD's people, not to unbelievers. 6th Point: To have a powerful prayer you need to improve your relationships. For example, the relationship between husband and wife can help or hinder prayers. See what day 1 Peter 3:7 “Husbands likewise, live with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as a weaker vessel, and as heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered. .” Broken relationships between spouses affect the relationship with GOD. Also, don't let pride be the cause of your heart being rejected by GOD. 7th Point: To have a powerful prayer, cultivate forgiveness in your spirit. What did JESUS say about this? HE declared that we will not receive forgiveness from the FATHER if we do not forgive others. Matthew 6:12 says, “and forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven our debtors.” Many and countless warnings listed in the Word make it very clear that, as we treat others, we will be treated by GOD. So work as if everything depended on you. Conclusion We have a lifeline that keeps us in salvation with our GOD, prayer. It is through prayer that we thank GOD for the blessings. It is through prayer that we ask GOD to take care of others and also of ourselves. For prayer to be meaningful we must desire to pray better. Examine yourself now and see the best way to improve your prayer life.
