Strategies to use in combat

How to put on GOD's armor to fight evil?
The Christian is a soldier always in combat. The Apostle Paul personally knew what it was like to be a Roman soldier.
In Acts 28:16 it says:
“When we arrived in Rome, the centurion handed the prisoners over to the general, but Paul was allowed to live separately, with the soldier who guarded him.”
In Ephesians 6:10-18 Paul uses this figure of the Roman soldier of his time to teach us great lessons on how to fight and prevail against the devil.
1. The Belt of Truth Eph. 6:14 “Stand therefore, having your loins girded with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness,”
2. The breastplate of righteousness Eph 6:14
3. The shoes of the Gospel of peace. Eph 6:15 “and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace,”
4. The Shield of Faith Eph 6:16 “taking above all the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.”
5. The Helmet of Salvation Eph 6:17 “Take also the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the SPIRIT, which is the Word of GOD;”
6. The Sword of the SPIRIT Eph 6:17 (above)
See what Isaiah 11:5 tells us “Righteousness will be the girdle of His loins, and faithfulness the girdle of His loins.”
Isaiah 59:17 further says: “He clothed himself with righteousness, as with a breastplate, and put on his head the helmet of salvation…
We can see here the description, two descriptions, actually of the combat armor as the image of CHRIST himself. Paul summarizes the images in the Book of Isaiah here to summarize his letter to the Ephesians and now to us.
Paul will describe a Roman warrior. In his time there was nothing and no one stronger than a Roman soldier well equipped to face his enemy.
As the body of CHRIST, HE invites us to put on His strong armor and enter as well-equipped Roman soldiers into our battle, our daily battles.
Let's have a greater understanding of the meaning of the parts of this armor.
Believe that with this understanding you will no longer be the same.
1. How can you put on the belt of Truth? It was with this belt that their weapons were firmly secured. So how do we put on this belt? Studying the Truth, the Word of GOD to strengthen yourself spiritually.
2. What is the breastplate of Justice? A protective cover. The true Roman soldier was covered in a cloak, with which his vital organs were protected, such as the heart, lungs and liver. If one of these organs were injured, this soldier's life would be in great danger.
The Ephesians were warned by Paul about sexual immorality, bitterness, malice, anger. But that in CHRIST JESUS we are covered by His righteousness, thus making us justified by His Blood.
3. And the sandals, shoes of the Gospel of Peace? These sandals protected the feet. With the Gospel of peace. The soldier had to have sandals on his sturdy feet for his walk up hills or down ditches. The feet of those who proclaim the Gospel of Peace must be beautiful says Isaiah 52:7
4. What about the Shield of Faith? This protected the Roman soldier from arrows and sword blows. Paul uses this part of the armor here to illustrate Satan's attacks against us and our defense power if we have firm faith in JESUS. The enemy's darts will be extinguished. Taking this shield is believing that GOD has the power to defend us.
5. Yes, and what is the helmet of Salvation for? This was an essential item for the soldier's survival. It was the protection of his head. In U.S? Protection of the mind and spirit. The Word in Ephesians 6:17 says: “Take also the helmet of salvation…” Taking or taking means receiving, or even accepting salvation. How to protect then? Always remembering all of GOD's promises regarding our salvation. Our battle is spiritual. Our armor is both offensive and defensive. Defensive: belt, breastplate, shield, helmet. Offensive: deadly, shoes, sword. Add to all this our vigilance and prayer. “With all prayer and supplication praying at all times in the SPIRIT and, for the same purpose, watching with all perseverance and supplication, for all the saints,”
6. What does it mean to wield the Sword of the SPIRIT? The sword that made up Roman armor was short and light, making it easier to handle. With this sword we can deflect the devil's lies and his temptations. Ask the FATHER of lights, our GOD, to develop in you a greater and deeper desire to be strong. Never forget that the power of the HOLY SPIRIT is infinitely greater than the power of sin.
You might say: how can I have the strength to do this? You can count on the help of the ETERNAL FATHER.
You might say: but how can I be able to act like this using these strategies, I can't. Pay attention now. To encourage her son's progress in studying the piano, his mother took him to a concert with one of the greatest pianists of the time by the name of Paderewisk. She was already sitting in the audience when she saw a friend and went to say hello. The boy took advantage of this moment to see the wonders of the place. He arrived at a door that said entry prohibited. What do you think What did this curious boy do? The lights went down, the concert was about to start, the mother then returned to her seat, discovering the absence of her son. Suddenly, the curtains opened and the lights fell on an impressive Steinway piano in the center of the stage. The mother was shocked to see her son sitting at the keyboard innocently playing the cai cai balloon notes. At that moment, the great piano master quickly made his entrance, went to the piano and whispered in the boy's ear: “don't stop, keep playing.” Then, Paderewisk, extended his left hand and began to fill in the bass part. He immediately placed his right hand around the boy and added a beautiful melody accompaniment. Together the old man and the boy turned an awkward situation into a wonderfully creative experience. The public was perplexed. This is how things are with GOD. What we managed to do on our own is barely worth mentioning. We do our best, but it doesn't sound like graceful music. But with the hands of the Master, the works of our lives can truly be beautiful. The next time you are going to accomplish something big, listen carefully to the Master’s voice whispering in your ear: “Don’t stop, keep playing.” Feel the loving arms of the FATHER around you. Know that His hands are playing the concert of your life. Remember, GOD does not call those being equipped. HE equips those who are called by HIM. HE will always be there to love and guide you to great things. So, keep playing and let GOD's hands give the chords to transform your life into a beautiful symphony.
Use the strategies learned and live winning!
