What is your first thought when you wake up?
The first thought! Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation, in whom I wait all day long (Psalm 25:5) In this beautiful Psalm, we see David asking for the Lord's protection as well as His guidance and forgiveness (vv. 1-7). We V. 8-14 David describes some attributes of GOD. GOOD and STRAIGHT; GUIDE to the humble; paths of MERCY and TRUTH; He who FORGIVES, He who keeps His INTIMACY for those who fear Him, is COMPASSIONATE; He who RELIEVES the tribulations of the heart and DELIVERS him who is alone and afflicted; He is the One who FORGIVES sins. David also asks for deliverance (v. 15-22). Are you going through a situation that you look and see no way out? Trust in the GOD of David, in my GOD, who I know is your GOD too. HE will deliver you and you will glorify Him. HE takes no pleasure in your pains and is not the cause of your sufferings. Search within your heart for the answers to your sufferings and I am sure the answers are there. You and I are the only ones causing it. GOD is so WONDERFUL that he uses these situations to draw us to HIM. Do you want to be guided by HIM? Do you want everything to change in your life? Seek Him from the heart, repent of all sins, ask for His forgiveness and truly desire to be touched by Him and He will then change your life forever. Confession and forgiveness are necessary elements for deliverance (vv. 18-20). Think about it! May Jesus be the first thought in the morning and the last thought at night!
