Who is the HOLY SPIRIT
HE is GOD.
One Person of the Trinity with GOD THE FATHER and GOD the SON.
It manifests the presence of GOD in the world through the Church.
HE is Eternal. Much more than simply a force.
It is an invisible Being with its own characteristics, desires and feelings.
When a person receives salvation, the HOLY SPIRIT begins to live in their heart. HE will work so that the FATHER's work in this life will be complete, with salvation, transformation and sanctification. Who is the HOLY SPIRIT then?
1st HE is a person
The Third Person of the Trinity, a Divine Person and as a Person HE speaks, hears, admonishes, teaches, loves, sees, intercedes, convinces, guides, helps and even is jealous of Him who is His.
HE speaks: Hebrews 3:7-8a
7 Therefore, as the HOLY SPIRIT says: Today, if you listen to his voice,
8a Do not harden your hearts…
HE grieves: Ephesians 4:30
30 And do not grieve the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Isaiah 63:10
10 But they rebelled, and grieved His HOLY SPIRIT; wherefore he became their enemy, and HE himself fought against them.
HE wants
Acts 16:7
7 and having arrived before Mysia, they tried to go to Bithynia, but the SPIRIT of JESUS did not allow them.
2nd HE is Sovereign: HE is more than a force or power, HE is divine. HE cooperates with JESUS by pointing out man, sin and the solution, which is to surrender to JESUS. HE regenerates by creating a new nature in us. HE also consoles the saved in their struggles and difficulties. HE guides GOD's servants in their decisions to make.
In Romans 8:14 it says:
14 For as many as are led by the SPIRIT of GOD, these are the children of GOD.
HE unites us and promotes unity in the church.
HE produces His fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, hallelujah!!
Galatians 5:25:
IF WE LIVE IN THE SPIRIT, LET US ALSO WALK IN THE SPIRIT
