the tongue can destroy The tongue James 3:3-8 Now, if we put bits in the horses' mouths, so that they obey us, then we manage to steer their whole body. See also the ships that, although so large and carried by impetuous winds, with a tiny rudder turn to wherever the helmsman wants. So also the tongue is a small member and boasts of great things. See how great a forest a small fire burns. The tongue is also a fire; as a world of iniquity, the tongue is set between our members, and it defiles the whole body, and enflames the course of nature, and is enflamed by hell. For all nature, both wild beasts and birds, reptiles and sea creatures alike, is tamed and has been tamed by human nature; but no man can tame the tongue. It is an evil that cannot be restrained; is full of deadly venom. In the texts read we can see that the apostle James is instructing us about the power of the tongue. And he will use the figure of the bits in a horse's mouth to govern his whole body and how the rider will lead him wherever he wants. He also uses another way of showing us this truth. The helm on a very large ship can be steered by the helmsman in any direction he wants too. Let us now think of your language and mine. James makes us understand that we must also master it so that, being well used, it can also guide the course of our life in a wise way. He also makes it clear how difficult it is, because it is full of venom, of poison. It is like a small fire that ignites a large forest. So what to do? How to use it for good? The Bible itself, the apostle Paul says in Romans 7:18-25 like this: For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, there dwells no good; for willing good is in me, but doing good is not. For I do not do the good that I want, but the evil that I do not want, that I practice. Now if I do what I don't want to do, it's not me, but the sin that dwells in me. Wretched man that I am! who will deliver me from the body of this death? Thank God, through Jesus Christ our Lord! So that I myself with the mind serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin. Yes, we recognize that sin is in us, but we will not let ourselves be dominated by it. On the contrary, we must and can master it. JESUS said in the Gospel of Matthew 15:11: It is not what enters the mouth that defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, that is what defiles it. Meditating on this Word, let us have dominion over our tongue and thus lead our body to life and not to death! Prayer LORD my only GOD we are before you now and in your presence we want to be forever. We ask forgiveness for our sins, whether conscious or not. Learning about the language now or remembering what we had already learned, we do want to have a truly transformed language. That every sin practiced through our tongue we now put away in the name of JESUS. Queremos a partir de agora através da nossa língua dizer coisas que edifiquem o próximo e a nós mesmos. Usa-nos SENHOR com doces palavras mesmo para com aqueles que têm nos condenado, infamado, caluniado para que vejam que quem está em nós é maior que qualquer calúnia, qualquer difamação ou toda sorte de mentira. Em nossos lábios através da nossa língua destilará da fonte chamada JESUS CRISTO somente palavras boas não só neste momento, mas a partir deste momento e para sempre, pois, temos a força em nós que é o ESPÍRITO SANTO operando em nós, aleluia! Queremos agradecer porque assim vivemos a partir de hoje em nome de JESUS, amém. Que a graça do SENHOR JESUS CRISTO, e o amor de DEUS, e a comunhão do ESPÍRITO SANTO sejam com todos vós.
