Luke 9:57-62
57 As they were going along the way, a man said to him, I will follow you wherever you go.
58 JESUS answered him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has nowhere to lay his head.
59 And to another he said, Follow me. To which he replied: Allow me to go first to bury my father. 60 JESUS answered him, Let the dead bury their own dead; but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.
61 And another said, LORD, I will follow Thee, but let me first send away those in my house.
62 But Jesus answered him, No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God. For these people, Jesus apparently was His priority, but it would soon become clear that He really wasn't. Is it JESUS or is it JESUS! When we put a feeling, a person, or a situation before JESUS, it is very clear that HE is not our priority. What things have you put before the LORD JESUS? What people have you put before JESUS? What wealth? Has your bank account taken the place of JESUS?
Matthew 6:19-21
19 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth; where moth and rust consume them, and where thieves break in and steal;
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Whether it's a person, or a house, an inheritance, it doesn't matter, don't put anything as a priority in your life. Is this the person who promised you the world? Say no to that feeling. Do you think that JESUS deserves to be after this boy or girl who has caused you so much suffering? That boss who asks you to lie, who makes you go beyond your working hours, anyway, what do you have as a priority that is putting the LORD JESUS somewhere other than the first? Is it the new car, is it the son? Don't forget that all the things you have are God's blessings, but they can't be priorities in your life. Now is the time for you to review the misconceptions and get your priority right, the real priority for the one who claims to be a Christian, is JESUS. You can say: I go to church three times a week, I tithe, I give an offering, I take Holy Communion, I am a worker, a worker, a missionary, a missionary, a pastor, a pastor, I do the work and so on, and still don't put Jesus first. He can? Yes you can. Why what is the motivation or motivations that drive you to do all these activities? You have a position of responsibility simply, you need to give satisfaction to your congregation, what is the real motivation? You understand that if JESUS is His priority all these things, activities should be part of your life and with great joy they should be done, but only if JESUS is truly His priority! So what is the place of JESUS in your life from today? Make a commitment now to HIM and assume before everyone that JESUS is first in your life. In doing so, believe, all things will be added to you.
